Il libro di Saviano si trova in molte librerie carachegne, tradotto da Teresa Clavel e Francisco J. Ramos e pubblicato da Debate.
Tra i partecipanti al forum di Caricuao c'era una lavoratrice della Commissione Permanente di Sviluppo Locale del Consiglio Municipale di Libertador - Caracas, che propose di ripetere il tema durante uno dei venerdì (5 marzo) mattina che i lavoratori dedicano a percorsi di formazione. Ad inizio marzo, una delle mete della Commissione era quella di emettere un'ordinanza che incentivasse al riciclaggio come forma di sviluppo locale, per questo motivo l'esperienza dell' “emergenza rifiuti” campana fu considerata interessante. Varie sono le forme per riunirsi attorno ai temi che riguardano l'ambiente o in particolare i rifiuti. Grazie alla “Ley Orgànica de los Consejos Comunales” ed alla “Ley Orgànica de Comunas”, in Venezuela i cittadini appartenenti ad un'istituzione demografico-geografica hanno voce in capitolo - con carattere vincolante! - su quanto riguarda il territorio, comprese le attività commerciali, industriali o quant'altro sia presente in quello spazio demograficamente e geograficamente delimitato. Una sfida che qui ha qualche strumento in più per le forze che vengono dal basso e dai territori; un tema - quello dei rifiuti controllati dai territori - che potrebbe essere uno degli assi nella costruzione del cosiddetto “Socialismo del XXI Secolo”, che propone qualcosa di alternativo al modello capitalista ed all'egemonia di gramsciana memoria che esso incarna.

Muchas son las formas para reunirse alrededor de temas que tienen que ver con el ambiente o en particular con los desechos.
